How to Put Multiple Links in Your Instagram Bio (2026)

Two ways to add multiple links to your Instagram bio: the built-in feature and a link-in-bio page. When each one is right, the exact steps, and why a page beats a plain list once you have real offers.

Instagram gives you one link slot, but you probably have more than one thing worth linking to: a shop, a YouTube channel, a newsletter, a free download. Good news, you can absolutely put multiple links in your bio. There are two ways to do it, and which one you pick depends on how many links you have and whether you care about branding and analytics. This is a spoke off our complete link-in-bio guide.

The two ways, in one breath

  1. Instagram's built-in multiple links. Add several external links directly in your bio settings. Basic, but free and no extra tool.
  2. A link-in-bio page. Put one link in your bio that opens a page listing all your links as buttons. More control, analytics, branding, and one stable URL.

Small number of links and you don't care about styling? Use the built-in feature. Real offers you want to track and brand? Use a page. Details on both below.

Option 1: Instagram's built-in multiple links

Newer Instagram versions let you add more than one external link right in your profile. Steps:

  1. Open your profile and tap Edit Profile.
  2. Tap the Links section.
  3. Tap Add external link, paste a URL, add a title, save.
  4. Repeat for each link you want. They stack under your bio.

That's genuinely all it takes, and it costs nothing. The trade-offs:

  • No styling. They're plain text links, not designed buttons.
  • No analytics. You can't see which link people actually tap.
  • No custom domain. Every link points wherever you pasted, with no branding layer.
  • Limited slots. Instagram caps how many you can add.

For a creator with two or three links and no need to measure anything, this is fine. Don't over-engineer it.

Option 2: A link-in-bio page

Once you have real offers, or you want to know what people click, a link-in-bio page is the better tool. You put one link in your bio, and that link opens a page with all your destinations as tappable buttons.

What the page gives you that the built-in links don't:

  • Designed buttons, labelled by what people get ("Get the free training," "Book a call"), not plain URLs.
  • Click analytics, so you can see which buttons work and reorder based on data. See link-in-bio analytics in the main guide.
  • Your branding, colours and a look that match your feed instead of a bare list.
  • One stable URL you never have to change, you edit the page, not your Instagram bio.
  • A custom domain on paid plans, so the link looks like yours. More in link-in-bio custom domain.

Steps to set it up:

  1. Build the page in a link-in-bio tool (heyy.to, Linktree, and others).
  2. Copy the page's URL.
  3. Paste it into your Instagram bio via Edit Profile, Links, Add external link.
  4. Done. Your one bio link now opens your full menu.

Which should you use?

Simple rule:

  • Two or three links, no need to measure: Instagram's built-in feature. Free, quick, good enough.
  • Real offers, want analytics and branding: a link-in-bio page.
  • You also want DM automation: a page in a tool that does both, so your bio and your funnel live together.

That last point is worth a second. Most link-in-bio tools only do the page. heyy.to also does comment-to-DM automation, so your bio links and your DM funnel are in one place. We broke that down in one bio page + auto-DMs.

How to structure your links so they get tapped

Whichever option you pick, order matters. A pile of links means people tap nothing. A few rules:

  • Lead with your single priority. The one thing you most want tapped goes first, above everything.
  • Three to five links, not fifteen. Every extra link dilutes the taps. Prune the ones nobody clicks.
  • Label by outcome, not name. "Get the free guide" beats "Google Drive." Tell people what they get.
  • Swap seasonally. During a launch, the launch link is top. After it, put whatever's next.

A link-in-bio page makes this easy because you can reorder buttons and watch the click data. With plain built-in links you're guessing.

FAQ

Can I put multiple links in my Instagram bio? Yes, two ways: Instagram's built-in multiple links (basic and free) or a link-in-bio page (buttons, analytics, one stable URL).

How many links can I add with Instagram's built-in feature? Instagram caps it, and the exact number changes, but it's a handful. If you need more or want them styled and tracked, use a link-in-bio page.

Do the built-in multiple links show analytics? No. Instagram's built-in links don't tell you which one people tap. A link-in-bio page does.

Is a link-in-bio page better than Instagram's built-in links? For real offers, yes, it adds buttons, analytics, branding, and one stable URL. For two or three casual links, the built-in feature is fine.

Do I need to pay for multiple links? No. Instagram's built-in feature is free, and most link-in-bio tools have a free tier (heyy.to included). Paid plans add custom domains and branding removal.

Can my link-in-bio page use my own domain? Yes, on most paid plans. It makes the link look like yours and stays yours if you switch tools. See link-in-bio custom domain.

Multiple links solve Instagram's one-link problem. A link-in-bio page does it with branding and analytics, and pairing it with comment-to-DM automation turns your profile into a funnel instead of a list. That's what heyy.to is built for. Read the complete guide or see the pricing.
